Manure is full of nitrogen. Spreading fresh or composted manure is the natural and renewal way of returning Nitrogen and organic matter to the soil.
Cation Exchange Capacity is the ability of the soil to attract and hold positively charged ions known as cations. Cations are formed by elements such as Zinc, Copper, Cobalt, Magnesium, Potassium and other trace elements. These are the available for pasture growth.
Soil aeration
Compaction of soil is a common condition caused by sour soils, or through repeated animal, equipment or human traffic.
It is particularly common around fence-lines, water troughs, access corridors and through gateways.
Even the most minor compaction can have a negative effect on your soil, resulting in:
- Lack of water penetration, hindering your soils absorption levels, and promoting excessive water shedding and possible erosion
- Lack of air penetration, vital for the growth of microbes with in the soil
- Reduced pasture competitiveness with more robust weed varieties.
Faster Pasture has the ideal cost effective solution with a multi tyne aerator spiking the soil to a depth up to 100 mm (depending on soil type).
