Soil testing in a laboratory

scientist

Balancing soil is more than pH balancing. It is improving the cation exchange capacity (CEC) and balancing Ca/Mg/Ph to release the locked up minerals in the soil.

Healthy pasture extracts Nitrogen from the atmosphere, eliminating the need for synthetic nitrogen fertilisers.

Soil audits & balancing

Healthy soils are the foundation for healthy pasture and thereafter, healthy animals.

If your soil is not balanced with the right mineral levels, a good Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) and appropriate pH, the pasture it grows, even if it looks good, does not provide your grazing animals with the input they need to fight disease and degenerative conditions.

Years of using synthetic fertilisers have locked up many minerals that are vital for animal physical and mental health. The locking up of these minerals and trace elements promotes the growth of unpalatable or toxic weeds with deeper root systems.

Sustained use of synthetic fertilisers have reduced the number of organisms necessary for the health of the soil. Earthworms, dung beetles and micro-organisms, necessary for the breakdown of organic matter, aeration and conditioning of your soils, are not attracted to sour unbalanced soils.

The removal of crops or manure from a property also removes important nutrients from the soil that will need to be replaced.

Soil Audits

Faster Pasture, through systematic sampling of your pastures soils, will obtain an independent soil analysis of your soil, detailing the composition of your soil. This is an important first step in understanding the health of your soil and what is required to return it to optimum production capacity.

A soil audit can cost as little as $250 but save considerably more as informed judgments can be made about future action on your property, with out the waste of inappropriate actions and additives.

Soil Balancing

Through this process, the report from the independent soil laboratory will recommend actions and natural conditioning to commence the re-balancing of your soils.

Using the information from the independent soil analysis, Faster Pasture will make recommendations and propose an action plan to commence the rebalancing and remineralising of your soil.

Faster Pasture has the capacity to apply top dressings in the measures recommended as a result of the soil audit.
