The C4 photosynthesis pathway is essentially a CO2 concentrating mechanism, operates at a low stomatal conductance and allows carbon fixation at a much lower water cost than with C3 plants and grasses.
Weed management
Weed Management can be achieved through the following methods:
- Mechanical control – physical removal
- Chemical control – use of herbicides
- Organic control – cultivating, mulching, burning and grazing
- Prevention – soil balancing, monitoring and weed topping.
In general terms Faster Pasture does not promote the use of herbicides. In the case of Class 3 weeds such as Lantana, physical removal and paint method may be required in order to kick start the rejuvenation of the paddock. Once large Lantana plantations have been removed any regrowth can be controlled through soil conditioning and topping.
Faster Pasture can help you with solutions to weed management.
